THE MEANING OF REVOLUTION

Green’s style is assertive of implications of what to most of us would be a most astonishing experience, revolutionary to say the least – the near death experience (NDE) as studied and reported by Pim van Lommel.. Does anyone have evidence that the facts are other than as reported ? If not, the implications seem profound, and would seem to require an essentially complete change away from the materialist perspective that underlies so much of our conditioned responses. Green's observations on the "conscious universe" are most illuminating, and the following is offered in support of the general principle.
Creativity, whether Cosmic or human, is subjective in that, by definition, it has no objectively definable deterministic origin. Our non-process sciences account for relations between defined beginnings and endings – deterministic evolution of closed systems, not creative systems, but systems that always increase in entropy. Creativity seems a universal imperative of the cosmic whole – requires differences which in turn imply expression necessarily built upon a contrived coherent system of imposed limits resulting in a means, a pliable objective medium for creative expression and its subjective perception.
Subjective perception is in terms of process in a subjective experience of time and space, facilitated by evolved neural subjective faculties naturally selected to reveal the (aesthetic) direction of the larger process essential to sustain the creative process locally. Thus, of the imperative, direction, and means of process generally, we can say that creativity is the imperative, direction is the path into the subjective realm of symmetry and its abstracts such as aesthetics, while means include the subjective illusion of objective differences defined by imposed limits. Because of Bell’s nonlocality we know that time, space, and matter are less than fundamental, but that creativity and so subjectivity is fundamental. The meaning seems to be that the reality of the subject transcends the reality the body, but that the experience of the body in some sense ‘creates’ the individual whose experience (information) is preserved non-locally. Intractable problems with multi-dimensional ‘string theory’ suggest the complexity of the nonlocal realm where, as Cahill’s Process Physics (1) bootstrap model suggests, subjective meanings (coherence values such as symmetry, aesthetics, etc.) are the relevant fundamental categories rather than space or time.
The creative process implies a hierarchy of expression from lesser to more complex systems which, in the case of cosmic process, implies expression of an undefined creative imperative, an imperative that is fractal in the sense that its every expression holds implicit – is consistent with – the original imperative. The fractal nature of creation is revealed by observation. The relevant character of a fractal is that every aspect of its expression holds implicit the original imperative. What Oldershaw (2) has observed and documented is that: “The Self Similar Cosmological Paradigm further proposes that the Atomic, Stellar and Galactic Scales, and all other fundamental Scales of nature’s transfinite hierarchy, are rigorously self-similar such that for each class of particle, composite system or phenomena on any given Scale, there is a discrete self-similar analogue on all other Scales.” Our objective laws of nature limit our experience to three scales: atomic, stellar, and galactic. At the smaller end are the Planck limits, while at the larger end is the limiting velocity of light and high recession velocities. In all the SSCP appears to be a coherent explanation of multiverse theories generally, and an argument against the antrhropic principle in particular. The role of chance seems that of a final assembly process, simply realizing the probabilities implicit in the fractal imperative and its constraints upon the extant forces.
There is no indication whatever that there is a largest or smallest scale, but it is clear that natural laws describe a means, a unitary and coherent contrivance essential to sustain creativity and its expression. What would be a moment of our subjective time would be eons for any being for which our atomic scale appears as their galactic scale, etc. Oldershaw’s observation of the SSCP would seem most relevant to any multiverse theory speculation. It is perhaps no coincidence that Cahill’s “bootstrap” model of the evolution of self-referential semantic (meaningful) information leading to emergence of the physical world, being self-referential at every step, is also fractal in its every element such that the emergent whole retains its coherence essential to the persistence of cosmos as an endlessly creative system. Moreover, this self-similarity is observable at every scale throughout nature, as Oldershaw describes in his SSCP. Again, these are not theories, but observations.
Our understanding of relationships of both natural law (of isolated systems) and natural order (of cosmic process) is facilitated by our evolved neural faculties to distinguish Bohm’s “similar differences and different similarities” (3) otherwise known as abstraction theory (TA79-R8). Natural laws relate the hierarchies of non-process relationships (objective experience within defined/isolated systems), while natural order addresses the cosmic evolution of increasing system complexity (creativity). Abstraction theory (AT) points to the interface, the symmetry constraint, between objective phenomena and the subjective structure of its origin in the ‘big bang’ metaphor. The subjective constraint of symmetry upon the forces of nature has as its objective particulars the entire body of conservation law. But AT assures us that if symmetry is an abstract of such particulars, that it, too, is a particular of indefinitely higher abstracts – such as aesthetics. From this we get a sense of the relevance of our other evolved faculties including aesthetic sensibilities and our emotional response to aesthetics such as love that impels and directs our more constructive and creative choices. In other words, natural order implies sustainable direction, while natural laws provide objective means at the service of creative subjective choice. It appears that our evolved subjective faculties are the local agency of the cosmic creative imperative. As such evolving agents, we now seem to be early in the process of a major revolution, here discovering natural order and its implications, subjective values which can save us from increasingly rampant materialism with its fixation upon means, with social systems increasingly indifferent to constructive ends.
The Near Death Experience as described  seems consistent with the notion that subjectivity and subjective experience is more fundamental, more “real and durable” than the organism to which it relates. The implication is that the subject is both individual and ‘nonlocal.’ That the objective experience (physical life) is temporary seems to indicate that such life actually ‘creates’ the individual subjective viewpoints that ultimately endure to ‘fill’ nonlocality in constructive ways. In other words, life as we know it is only a beginning. It hardly seems likely that ‘experience,’ gained at such great price, is not conserved somewhere amid the multi-dimensions of nonlocality.
Every system of finite thought including materialism must ultimately lead to contradictions, paradox, or ambiguity that only the recognition of new experience can resolve. And then it only leads to the next more inclusive step and indefinitely on. See “Great Ideas”, TA98, William Byers. The NDE seems most relevant at this time, given decades of empty promises of non-process science to deliver a TOE. As to what the ancients thought of science, the early task of life was to be able to control the environment sufficiently to grow the population and create leisure, presumably to invest in education. It is understandable that this would result in emphasis on objective means to survival and materialistic views. Today, population is out of control but soon to be corrected by climate change if not by choice. Hopefully, science will learn to recognize the subjective structure of natural order – the implications of symmetry and its abstracts in relation to our aesthetic sensibilities and emotions with respect to constructive choices. This could lead to global consensus, long overdue, on the essentials for species survival.
